How long can you afk splashing? ›

After an update, splashing is still possible, but after twenty minutes the player will stop auto-retaliating, making it impossible to splash for hours as in the past.

Casting combat spells at early levels can be a good way to train Magic, Hitpoints, and optionally, Defence. While expensive, splashing does not require a lot of attention and early on provides decent AFK experience. Use the best strike spells available.

Each game tick is 0.6s, a magic combat spell takes 5 ticks, so in 1 hour a player can cast ("splash") 1,200 combat spells.

Splashing is the practice of training Magic by casting combat spells on an NPC. Before doing this however, you'll need to make sure that the magic accuracy is low so that it actually doesn't hit the NPC. Even if you don't deal any damage to the NPC, you can still gain a constant amount of Magic XP.

After the update, players can still splash, but they have to interact with the client every few minutes, however. Players splashing on other players in the single-combat area of Clan Wars.

Splashing Magic Experience

The experience rates are as follows: Strike spell – 13.9k XP per hour. Bolt spell – 27.0k XP per hour. Blast spell – 41.3k XP per hour.
